Please be advised that Paws n’ Relax Grooming Salon has a 24-hour cancellation policy. If you do not notify us that you need to cancel your appointment within 24-hours prior to your scheduled appointment time, or do not show up for your scheduled appointment within 15 minutes past the scheduled time, this will be considered a “no show” and you will be charged 100% of the grooming fee. We understand that a grooming appointment can be overlooked, but if an appointment is missed twice in a row without notice, we unfortunately will not schedule any future grooming appointments as our employees work on commission.
Paws n’ Relax prides itself on being able to provide a calm and quiet environment for every dog. If you know you are going to be late for pick up or need to drop your dog off earlier than the scheduled appointment time, please let us know in advance so that we can make accommodations to have all dogs inside the shop to feel safe and comfortable as some dogs are nervous/afraid or aggressive with others. Paws n’ Relax is a crate free environment, so dogs may be separated by gates or small pens if necessary. Due to the open environment of the grooming salon, any early drop off 30 minutes or less prior to the scheduled appointment will not be charged a fee. If you need to drop your dog off earlier than 30 minutes before the scheduled appointment time, there will be a charge of a one-time $30 day care fee for every additional 30 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment. Paws n’ Relax does not allow dogs to stay all day in the salon as it interrupts other client’s appointments and takes time away from the groomer to let your dog out to use the bathroom. You will be notified 15 minutes before the end of your dog’s grooming service as to when they will be ready for pickup. There is a 30-minute grace period for pickup. For every additional 15 minutes after the 30-minute grace period, there will be a one-time $30 day care fee.
All dogs must enter and leave the grooming salon with a collar or harness attached to a leash. This provides maximum safety and restraint of your dog in the parking lot as Paws n’ Relax is located on a main road. Paws n’ Relax is not liable or responsible if your dog becomes loose coming and going from the salon. It is the owner’s responsibility to ensure their pet is safe and secure. Please make sure all collars and harnesses are fit and adjusted properly to your dog.
Payment is due at the time of pickup. Paws n’ Relax only accepts payment by cash, check, credit card, and Zelle. Paws n’ Relax has suspended accepting payments through Venmo.
Paws n’ Relax does not offer pet taxi services. Paws n’ Relax is not responsible or insured to pick up or bring your dog home. It is the owner’s responsibility to arrange a ride for their dog if they are unable to bring them or pick them up to/from the appointment.
Your dog’s comfort is our top priority. We will make every effort to make your dog’s visit as pleasant as possible. Matting is extremely painful and can result in injury, stress, and trauma. If your dog is severely matted, they will have to be shaved down as brushing out matts can be dangerous as previously stated - NO EXCEPTIONS. You will be notified beforehand as each dog’s coat condition is inspected prior to grooming. If you do not want your dog to be shaved, all grooming services will stop, and we will have you pick up your dog. This will then be treated as a last-minute cancellation and the owner is responsible to pay 100% of the grooming fee.
Because we care about the safety of your dog, every precaution will be taken to provide a safe and stress-free grooming experience. Due to the intimate nature of the grooming process, or a pet’s tolerance for stress, strangers, or handling, some dogs may become anxious or reactive during the grooming service.
If Paws n’ Relax determines that continuing the grooming service would present a threat to your dog’s emotional or physical health, and/or the safety of the groomer completing the service, we will discontinue the groom and contact you immediately for pickup.
We will take every precaution necessary to complete the grooming service as safely and humanely as possible, including the proper use of common industry safety equipment such as grooming loops, muzzles, and other restraints.
Paws n’ Relax does not muzzle unless your dog gives us a reason to. If at any time your dog becomes too aggravated or stressed to continue with the grooming process, we will stop and recommend receiving grooming by or in a veterinarian’s office.
IF AT ANY POINT IN THE GROOMING SERVICE WE DISCOVER ANY INJURY, POSSIBLE INJURY, OR YOUR PET HAS ANY MEDICAL EMERGENCY, THE GROOMING SERVICE WILL BE DISCONTINUED AND YOU WILL BE NOTIFIED IMMEDIATELY.
Please inform us prior to grooming services if your dog has any pre-existing medical issues that we should be made aware of to ensure your dog’s comfort and safety during the appointment.
Paws n’ Relax is hereby authorized to seek medical treatment from the nearest veterinarian in the case of any medical emergencies. All veterinarian costs and expenses will be the responsibility of the dog’s owner.
It is required by law by the state of Connecticut that all dogs must have their Rabies shot and a valid Rabies Certificate in order to be groomed at a grooming salon. It is the owner’s responsibility to provide an up-to-date rabies certificate to Paws n’ Relax at the time of becoming a new client and must provide Paws n’ Relax with a new copy once expired.
Please make sure that your dog has been let out to use the bathroom before entering the grooming salon. There is an outdoor grass area and waste disposal area located within the complex of Paws n’ Relax that can be used for your dog(s) when you arrive. It is the owner’s responsibility to pick up and dispose of all waste, and if you need a bag, Paws n’ Relax is happy to supply you with one at the outdoor waste disposal station. Dogs who have to use the bathroom during grooming can act more anxious, so please plan accordingly to make sure there is enough time for your dog to relieve itself before the appointment.
At Paws n’ Relax Grooming Salon, we DO NOT perform de-skunking services. We DO NOT perform flea baths or accept dogs with fleas into the salon. If your pet arrives for their scheduled groom and fleas are found or your dog is infested with fleas, you will be contacted immediately to pick up your pet. There will be an additional charge of $150 for flea removal if you decide not to pick up as well as a $100 sanitation fee for the cleanup and disinfection of the entire salon and grooming equipment. If your dog is infested with ticks, you will be contacted immediately to pick up your dog and bring them to a veterinarian to seek proper medical attention as ticks carry disease and can make your pet severely ill. Please consult your veterinarian for suggestions on the best flea/tick preventative for your dog.
Paws n’ Relax is allowed to use dog’s name and any images or videos taken while they are in the grooming salon. This authorizes Paws n’ Relax to take photos of your dog for client files, and to publish the photos on the company’s website, Facebook page, and Instagram page.
Paws n’ Relax has the right to refuse ANY services at ANY TIME. In the event that your dog is too stressed or becomes dangerous/aggressive to groom, we reserve the right to refuse grooming services, stop grooming services, or cancel grooming services at any time before, during, or after grooming and the dog’s owner will be charged a grooming fee for the services rendered.
